To Tree or Not to Tree

December 8th, 2009

That was the question I’ve been asking myself for a week or two now. I wanted to put up a tree and then I didn’t want to put up a tree. The thought of putting up our artificial tree was not doing it for me, and I was seriously considering skipping that part of the Christmas season this year.

Then, I decided if we put up a tree that I’d like to have a real one, and Marcel agreed. Even with that much decided, I still wasn’t sure I would put up a tree, but this afternoon I finally decided that we would and Marcel and I went off on a quest for a tree.

The first place we went- which is a store similar to Sam’s Club was only having trees for two days- today and tomorrow, but I didn’t like their selection. They were pretty enough, but they were too short, so off we went to a local garden store which is literally a five minute walk from our house. They had a gazillion trees, but they were also in the 60-75.– range and I really didn’t want to pay that for a tree. Next!

Off we went to the same place we bought our real tree from two years ago, and we found the perfect tree (which looked like the trees that were at the garden store for 60-75, only these were 40-. Imagine that- They didn’t have to tell me twice- SOLD!!

Now said tree is soaking in a bucket of water and tomorrow, if we’re lucky we’ll add him to the bucket of water and get him decorated. I hope anyway. :)

    Hi Lori,

Maybe next year we will go all out and celebrate Christmas with decorations. Currently, all of our decorations are in a storage unit 2 miles from here. I will pass on going down there and digging through all those boxes to get to them. Don’t you love the fragrance that the tree adds to the house? I guess it makes the needles worth it. I hope you and Marcel have a wonderful Christmas. My voice recognition system did not recognize Marcel but printed parcels instead. Isn’t that a riot?

    nothing beats a REAL tree!

I won’t be putting up one this year but only because I won’t be around… I go on vacation on Saturday for 7 days! Then will spend Christmas at Regina’s new apartment.

Hey Bud!!! How are you?? I think that’s funny- that it said Parcels instead of Marcel. It does sound close :)

I don’t blame you for not pulling everything out. Maybe you can get some scented candles and at least have the Christmas smell. I do love the scent of the trees, which is one of the resons we decided on one. That and I didn’t want to deal with assembling the artificial tree.

I hope y’all have a wonderful Christmas. I’ve missed you!!!!

Dorrie I bet y’all will have a wonderful time at Reginas new place, and I hope your vacation is a great one!!
