Time to Par-tay

April 11th, 2010

Next month, Marcel will be celebrating 25 years with the company he works with. While some companies may give you a pat on the back and say ‘thanks for 25 years of service’, this one definitely goes above and beyond and offers many great goodies which could bring a smile to even the grumpiest of souls. In addition to all the other ‘perks’ of being with the company 25 years, they also gather everyone who will celebrate both 25 and 40 years with the company in one location and have a huge bash.

This coming Friday is that bash and I’m looking forward to it. Driving your own car or providing your own transportation is not possible- in order to attend, you must allow them to pick you up and take you to the destination. So, this Friday afternoon, our chariot will be here to pick us up, and take us to a city about an hour from here, where we’re expected at 6 p.m. There will be a dinner, entertainment provided by popular musicians and lots of festivities. The company thought of everything, and since Marcel was technically supposed to work the following morning, they’ve given him a free day off (with pay, of course). I’ll be taking my little camera in hopes of finding plenty of photo opportunities. I won’t really know that many people, but who knows, maybe it will offer me the opportunity to also make some new friends.

Plus, if I have service on the ‘eye’ within the locale, maybe I’ll write an (on location) blog entry or two. I’m grateful that Marcel is feeling better and that we’ll be able to attend the festivities. The rest of the ‘perks’ will happen next month when he ‘officially’ has his company birthday.

I think it will be Dorrie- I’m really looking forward to it. They don’t give us any of the details other than where it’s going to be, but the entertainment- food and the rest is a secret until we arrive.

I’ll be taking pictures for sure.\

When do you move into your new place? I bet you are getting excited!

That is so awesome. Most companies don’t even pat you on the back!!

I’m glad Marcel is feeling better. Greg’s mom had shingles a few years ago and it about killed her! I hope I never get them!
