Question of the day- Self Thoughts

May 7th, 2009

This question may require you to take a look at yourself, and truth is, you may not like your answer, but the great thing is- knowledge is power- and there is no way to change something that you can’t or don’t recognize.

I don’t want to expound too much on today’s question, otherwise I won’t have much to write tomorrow when I respond. My own answer is much different than it was initially when I asked myself the question- so give yourself time to really look at yourself and be honest.

I’ll share my response tomorrow, but in the meantime: How do you usually talk to yourself?

In case you aren’t sure what I mean by that question, I mean what type of things do you say to yourself, about whatever life may toss your way. We all have that ‘inner voice’, and I’d like to know how yours talks to you.

“What were you thinking?”. “Lord, give me grace”. “You’re a total airhead”. “Let’s try this again.” Shakes head.

this might seem odd but I don’t think I have one. I suppose now that I am aware, I will pay more attention.

Summer- I find myself thinking some of the same things- Sometimes I’m extremely positive in my thinking, and there are others, when I beat myself up far more than I should. It’s those type of thoughts that I’ve been trying to eliminate from my mind.

I think we all have them Bursty- I think that we don’t always recognize it or think about it. I’d be curious what you come up with when you become more aware.

I believe we all have an inner voice ( a still small voice that sometimes screams..) I know mine was very negative at some times, but with awareness, I try to consistently change the negative to positives. Now it is more positive than negative.

I say, “Self, you are a complete idiot. Get off those facebook games and do your homework.” I always insult myself first… Maybe I should stop
