Processing Your World

September 3rd, 2012

If you are my ‘friend’ on Facebook- then you know that I often share quotes that I enjoy or that tend to reach out and grab me.  For as long as I can rememeber I’ve loved the written word and tidbits of wisdom in the form of quotations really reach in and speak to me.

Today,  I was busy most of the day so I turned on the computer after dinner and started reading emails and the following was in one of my messages.

“No one can create negativity or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world.”- Wayne Dyer

Now I don’t know about you- but this not only reached out and grabbed me- but it grabbed me by the neck and didn’t let go.  Reason being because while I know this is SO true- it’s something that I’m constantly working on and learning.     For the most part- “I’ve got this- lesson” but there are those few exceptions.  There are a few people (VERY FEW) that I immediately feel stressed when I am in their prescence.

This quote really made me stop and think about that today and how I process being around them-  and I think it’s because you never know what to expect with them, and they seme to ‘come out of left field’ often- that it makes me edgy.   Why?  Mostly because I do my best to treat everyone with respect and dignity, even when it is a difficult task and lets face it-  some people are just harder to ‘be’ with.     Those same people I also think about every word I say around them before it comes out of my mouth-  so there isn’t a natural ‘flow’ to things.   There are many many dynamics that make the situation what it is- but I’m curious as to how I can filter through the feeling I have and be around them without stress.  It’s definitely something to think about- and obviously something I need to work on.

Thankfully there aren’t a lot of people that I can say create an uneasy and/or negative ‘vibe’ in my life- so I feel blessed!

What about you?  What do you think?
