Packing 101

January 19th, 2011

One one think that as often as we travel that I would have learned to travel light. Obviously that is ‘not’ the case in spite of my thoughts that I was actually indeed doing just that. If you could see the living room right now- it would tell a completely different tale.

The final count is three suitcases- two moving boxes- two carry ons.

Last night in the midst of my frustration trying to get everything packed and still maintain my sanity- mom looked at me and said:

“Lori, you really need to start packing light when y’all travel.”

I was passing through to the kitchen and without looking I commented that I DID pack light.

I grabbed the glass of water I had gone into the kitchen for, only to come into the living room and find mom and diddy practially falling off the sofa in laughter. At that time diddy commented that if this was packing light, he’d hate to see what I call ‘regular’ packing.

It looks like this is one of those lessons that I may never learn. I’ll keep trying though, and who knows- maybe one day I’ll actually get it.

    It comes with practice.

I don’t tink the initial packing light is the issue. You have been there some time and things massed – you know, Christmas, shopping etc!!!!
