(On Location) From the Train

May 21st, 2011

This morning I woke up to an absolutely gorgeous day, which made it much easier to get out of bed. I am headed to a city several hours away to meet some new friends and some old ones for a day of surprises and fun.

Some may hate it, but aside from the occasional delays, I love traveling by train. No thinking about traffic, no concentrating on driving. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

It gives me the chance to think or to do things like write in my blog (like I’m doing now) or read my Kindle (that I brought along today). Occasionally, I even meet a random stranger and exchange pleasantries.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the day brings. How about you??

I was in Merry ‘ole England a few years ago and had a chance to ride their excellent train system. And you’re right…it’s a great way to travel. I wish we had a similar system here, but…

Today here will be rather quiet…Central Market, maybe grilling this evening. Tomorrow there is an English/European car show I hope to attend, if the weather allows.

Have fun with your friends. :)
