Making the Change

June 1st, 2012

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about life and how so many of us are on different paths to here and there- yet there is a fine thread that connects us all. I’ve spent several hours in recent weeks watching the Oprah Life classes and it amazes me how much I’ve learned from those. I had several moments where I really stopped and thought about things in a completely different perspective that I’d never thought about before, and some of those things have really changed the way I view certain situations and even people.

That’s the great thing, I believe about motivating people– is that you can share an experience or a perspective that they have never thought about before- something that maybe wasn’t working in their life- but to see it from a different angle or perspective and suddenly new doors open up in their lives that they didn’t realize possible. If you allow it- those moments can be life changing.

My biggest lesson came recently watching something about forgiveness. You may not think about forgiveness as being motivating- but it can be. I didn’t even realize I needed to forgive anyone- but I realized that I was angry about something that I didn’t even realize I was angry about and that realization was huge- and that alone is half the battle. From that realization on- it’s as though a light switch was turned on and things have changed in many aspects of life. Things are definitely more tied together than we sometimes realize and in realization is the ability to make change- and from there the sky is the limit.
