Lost Ring- Well Almost

January 4th, 2010

I can’t remember if I wrote about this back before Christmas, but if my memory serves me correctly, it’s one of those things that I ‘planned’ to write about, but that time got away from me and I never did. It crossed my mind a little while ago, so I decided better late than never. Right?

As you know, we’ve been having snow here in the land of Never on and off for quite some time. I happen to love snow, and in spite of the mess it makes when trying to actually drive in it, I still love it. Back before Christmas Marcel and I took a trip to a local garden center to look for a red flower pot to put a poinsetta in that Marcel bought me for the living room, plus to pick up some dog cookies for the pup. I got out of the car before Marcel because he was listening to something on the radio, and I started making snowballs and tossing them at his window. In fact, I waited for him to open the door so that I could pelt him with one, but I took mercy on him when I realized that he was quite helpless and wasn’t armed with snowballs to fight back. A man who was in the parking lot next to us was watching and laughing. When Marcel got out of the car, he told him he’d better watch it. It was quite funny.

Sometime during walking through the store, I felt that I was missing a band that I wear on my right pinky finger. The ring was too big for me, but I’ve been wearing it anyway, and suddenly it was gone. I hoped that it was outside, but when I went out to the car and looked around in the snow, I couldn’t find it. I had bought a Christmas arrangement for my mother in law, and Marcel wanted me to put it on the back seat of the car. I did, but then was afraid that it would get messed up because it was not flat on the seat, so I took it back to the trunk. When I turned to walk back to my side of the car, I saw a circle in the snow. I reached down, and there was my ring in the snow. If I hadn’t turned to take the arrangement back to the trunk, I wouldn’t have stepped in that particular spot in the snow, which revealed the ring. It had become buried.

I thought it was awesome that I found it! When I got home, I put it in the drawer with some of my other jewelry. I was blessed this time- I may not have been the next.

I’m sooo glad you found your ring! My goodness, what timing !! It’s just like we know…God has our live and all we do, all planned out for us. :)
