Let the Countdown Begin!

April 2nd, 2016

One month from today- we will be headed home for a very special wedding, plus to spend time with family and friends.     It’s odd, since we generally don’t go home this time of the year, but will be fun for Marcel to experience the Deep South in the middle of the heat and humidity.    Something tells me he’ll be grateful for air conditioning more than ever.

I’ve been picking up odds and ends here and there to take with us, but I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had a lot of time to let the reality sink in of just how soon it really is.   I believe once I get some of the work projects out of the way, including 150 sugar flowers that I need to do ahead of time, because I have a wedding to do when we return, that it will all feel a little more real to me.

I do have the carry-on ready to go.   Well, I have stuff stacked on top of it.   My favorite espresso, plus some of the Torres Black Truffle chips that was on Oprah’s favorite things list this past year.   I bought some and really wanted to share them with my favorite people.   If you are a chip lover then you definitely need to try these.  Best Chips EVER!!  Hands down!    Don’t take my word for it… Try them yourself.    After all, it has to be good if it made it to Oprah’s Favorite Things.

I am so grateful that we have this time to share with the people we love.   To spend time with them, and celebrate the marriage of two of my favorite people.  So many wonderful things happening all around.

Are you planning any travel this year?    If so, where will you go?

  1. Ah, the Deep South in May.

The good news is that, unlike in the movies, we do have A/C down in the South now. There are always courthouses in the movies where people are fanning themselves, sweating profusely.

    Things are better mnow. Mostly.

I hope you have a great time and get to see everyone you want to see!

LOL Nasreen- Oohhh I know. I was born on the MS Gulf Coast and lived on the coast most of my life- My husband, on the other hand has never been in the summer- we always go home in the winter months- so the heat and humidity will be a surprise for him :)
