Last Day

January 21st, 2013

It’s our last day of vacation. I’ve been packing all morning and redistributing weight from one checked bag to another, but I finally got it finished and happy that I have it done early enough that I can go out and enjoy the rest of the day without thinking too much about that. The sun is shining- which is a complete contrast to back ‘home’- so I need to walk around and soak up as much vitamin D as I can. Not to mention soak up my surroundings, since it will be a while before I see them again.

As always- the time goes by so quickly. It’s hard to believe that the nine weeks have flown by and I even considered sending Marcel back and extending the time here, but I do have a business to run along with a household and as much as I’ll miss being here, I’m grateful that I have two places that I can call home.

I wish I’d been able to see some people that I wanted to see, or at least even talk to them, but I left it up to people to contact us according to their schedules- and work from there. I feel good about all that, but sadly I wasn’t able to work it out with a few people as hard as we tried we just couldn’t sync our schedules. It wasn’t from lack of trying that’s for sure, but sometimes things don’t work out. There is always next time.

Right now- I think I’ll do a little more rearranging so I can actually pack pecans instead of having to carry them on the plane in my bag, but I feel pretty certain I can.

Last day- so bittersweet.
