Kaleidoscope

July 20th, 2009

When I was young, I always loved kaleidoscopes. The pieces of colored glass or plastic, changing to create different patterns as the shapes reflected from the one or more mirrors at the end of the tube. They are beautiful, and I could watch them for hours. Even now, as an adult, I find myself drawn to them, and again, could mesmorize myself with them for hours.

This past Thursday, when we were out for my belated birthday dinner, I was drawn to this stained glass dome that took center stage in the restaurant. It was so beautiful, and reminded me of a kaleidoscope that I played with as a child.

As I look at this picture, I can’t help but think about how life is very much like a kaleidoscope- constantly turning, changing and giving us beautiful moments to embrace and cherish.

Enjoy them every one.

I used to love kaleidoscopes, too. They were simple toys yet fun!

I love every one also, just some I prefer more then others but only cause You can’t experience everyone at the same time, only one at a time, and then you must cultivate them till they are willing to be experienced, eh 32@

Ohhh this is so very pretty! I also loved them as a child, and now even still :) I bought a small one from the St Petersburg Fine Arts Museum Giftshop, a few years ago. I still look at the pretty designs and colors!
