Introducing- 5 O’ Clock Friday’s

April 9th, 2010

Today is the first edition of what I hope to be many 5 O’ Clock Friday’s. The idea is to take a picture of whatever grabs your attention at 5 O’ Clock and then either send it this way so I can share it with the masses, or let me know where to find it so I can link what you’ve come up with.

Since my own 5 O’ Clock has come and gone, this is what I was able to photograph in my surroundings at 5. One of my favorite guys protecting his World Cup soccer ball. Surprisingly he has a few moves like a soccer player. We bought him the ball when we were out and about yesterday and he adores it. So much so, that he won’t be caught sharing with the likes of the adorable Mister M.

Now that I’ve shown you mine; it’s your turn to show me yours.

Email me at lori at this domain ( with your picture, link etc. You’ll receive full credit for your photo and it’s open to ANYONE not just bloggers. So find some inspiration in your surroundings and I can’t wait to see what y’all come up with.

I’ve got to set my alarm so I don’t forget!

haha I almost forgot too Anita- I was getting ready to vacuum and I looked at the clock.. I had five minutes which gave me just enough time to get the camera, and JJ happened to be enjoying his ball.

JJ’s a cutie! He is darker than Ginger was. She was more of a blond wheaten color – like the spice, ginger…

How do JJ & Mr. M. compare size-wise, now?

Are you going to get JJ groomed regularly, and if so, do you plan to get the traditional Cairn/Westie cut where it’s shorter on top and they have fluffier longer hair on the legs? I used to get Ginger clipped so she looked more like she did as a puppy – without the long hair.

If you have JJ out in the snow when his hair is longish, he may jut come back into the house sporting a coat of little snowballs!

Heyy Charmie- I just saw this comment..

The breeder thought JJ was blond when he was born, but he’s ‘officially’ red.

JJ is a little larger than Mister M, but obviously stronger. He body slams Mister M. all the time, but Mister does get the better of him and it really is funny to see, but I try to keep them separated from that kind of play because the cat hair flies- especially this time of the year when Mister M is shedding his winter coat. I keep him brushed but there’s constant hair issues and that makes it MUCH worse.

We are going to have him done regularly.. It’s almost time for him to be done. We’ve had JJ ‘plucked’ where they pull out the longer ‘ripe’ hairs and then the rest comes in behind it.

I have to say that I love that long scruffy look, but right now it’s getting a little too long and it’s time for his ‘plucking’. We have a lady locally whose going to come to our home to do it, which makes it easier. We took him to the breeder last time and she did it, and even though she’s an hour away, I’m tempted to take him to her again, because she did a great job and JJ behaved so well.

hehe I saw a little dog with those snowballs, they were funny. JJ didn’t have them this year, but he may this coming year since he’s older and his hair will be longer.
