Guilt-less Treats

January 17th, 2012

I have some friends coming over tomorrow for lunch and I really wanted to make something yummy but also guilt free. I’m trying to make the right choices food wise and put into my body things that will benefit it health wise- and avoid the stuff that won’t as much as possible. I wanted it to be something easy- but also tasty, so this is what I ended up doing:

I bought a couple ripe banana’s and sliced them in chunks. I added a tiny bit of peanut butter to the top of each one and put them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet in the fridge.. Then I melted some really good quality (Callebaut) dark chocolate and proceeded to dip them all in the chocolate before returning to the pan and back to the fridge.

That’s where they are now- so the chocolate will set up.

I’m not sure how many calories each one would be- but it certainly won’t be much. I added no sugar to the peanut butter (and there’s none in the ingredients) so the only sugar is from the dark chocolate and the natural sweetness from the banana. I can’t wait to try them, but I think I’ll wait til tomorrow and try them when everyone else does.

I’ll share a photo when I pull them out tomorrow.
