Good Things Come…

May 17th, 2011

A while back- I went to this local coffee house and fell in love with the mugs they were using to serve their coffee in.  At the time, I asked them if they would be willing to sell me one- but they declined, saying that their supply was limited and therefore unable to sell any.    I was disappointed- and I’ll let you in on a little secret-  I was tempted to steal  permanenly borrow one.

Yes, I know-  Stealing is wrong, but I wanted one of those mugs.    I have this affinity for mugs- and since this one was candy apple red AND sported a coffee bean on the side- I wanted it.   (I think this is where greed comes into play.)    Obviously, in spite of my temptation to steal permanently borrow one- I resisted and vowed that I would find some legal way to obtain one of those mugs- even if it meant bribing the barista in some form or fashion.

Fast-forward to yesterday.  I opened my email and had a newsletter from said coffee house- where I found a picture of my beautiful red little cup.  At first, I was certain it was to torture me-  after all, I was certain my beloved Illy would taste better inside this mug.   Upon further inspection of the email- I found that they were now carrying the mugs and were selling them- in the coveted red and also black.

Guess where I went this morning?  You got it!   I went to the coffee house and bought myself one of those cute little mugs- and didn’t have to beg, borrow or steal to get it.    Guess it goes to show- good things come to those who wait.
