Good Deeds

March 31st, 2012

Not far from our home- and where we regularly walk JJ is a home for mentally challenged adults. We interact with some of them on a regular basis as some of them really love JJ, and last week when I was out run/walking I had the music playing on my iPhone and one of the girls stopped me and wanted to dance. It was sweet- and enough for me to pause the work out and chat with her for a little while. She wanted me to play some music that I didn’t have though, and she looked heartbroken when her request couldn’t be honored. I love talking to them though and it reminds me of the importance of taking a moment to enjoy the little things, because they are really what matters.

This morning Marcel was out and about walking with JJ and he came across a leather wallet lying on the ground. Since he was on the property of the home, he went to one of their offices and handed it in to one of the people who work there- who confirmed it was the wallet of one of their residents. There wasn’t much in it- but I’m sure the person will be happy to have it returned to him. It’s the little things that add up to big ones.

Good for you guys for stopping to chat – most people wouldn’t. You are right it’s the little things that add up – and make our hearts sing

The little things and small moments make all the difference in the world.
