Go With The Flow

February 8th, 2013

You ever wake up with a plan for the day- and within minutes of stepping out of the bed- every plan seems to go out the window and things change?  Today was one of those days for me-   I have a lot happening in the next few days- between work, new clients, social engagments and the other basic everyday things (household, etc.) , so in order to be the most efficient, I need a plan- which I had.     I’ve found that while a plan is essential- it’s also good to be flexible, because if you can’t go with the flow then you’re definitely looking for a constant struggle.

I woke up with a migraine this morning-   sinus related, but usually a couple of cups of coffee- some allergy meds and Ibuprofen will knock it out-  not this morning.   I had a lot of bookwork that needed to be done- some freelance writing to meet a deadline, and a few other things-   all of which were complicated by aforementioned migraine.

There was a time when this would have completely stressed me out- (and it still wouldn’t have changed things), but this time I just sat down and made a new plan of things that could wait until the migraine had made its exit and what couldn’t wait.   That’s what I went with.

Several other little things came up throughout the day- and some plans for tomorrow changed, which in turn freed up some extra time for my order for Sunday’s delivery- and on it goes.    The migraine finally left- and now here I sit.   I’ve got a few phone calls to make and a little more things that need to be checked off my list today- but even though it didn’t go exactly how I planned- it was still a good day.     Go with the flow-  there’s definitely something to those four little words-   and if we don’t- we’re just swimming against the current.   Do you know how tiring that is?   I know I do.

Happy Weekend y’all-   What are you up to this weekend?
