Chocolate Bliss

January 11th, 2011

Last year I went to a baby shower for a friend and someone brought some brownies and they were probably the best brownies I’ve ever eaten. The girl who made them has a small catering business, so she didn’t offer to share the recipe. I have a great brownie recipe, but it’s more like a cake brownie and these were more like fudge. They used little flour and in spite of searching for recipes; I’ve been pretty unsuccessful in finding what I thought would come close.

A few days ago, I was browsing through a magazine that mom has here and came across a brownie recipe that I think will rival the brownies I had last year. It only uses a 1/4 cup flour, plus it not only has nuts- it also uses dried cherries. It sounds like heaven. I’m debating whether I’ll try it while we’re still here or wait until we get home. Either way, I have a feeling that this is going to be another ‘go to’ recipe. I can’t wait to try it and once I do- I’ll share the recipe.

The best brownies I’ve ever had were made with Ivoirian cocoa powder. I am still lucky enough to come by african chocolate once in awhile but it is never ever often enough!

BTW: I JUST finished off the last cookie this morning. I hated to see them go! :-( They were simply oatmeal & raisin PERFECTION!!!

    Love you my friend!

Kara I’ll have to try that cocoa- I’ve never heard of it.

I may do that Nat- if I can get to feeling better.

Lin- I’m SO glad that you enjoyed the cookies. I wish I lived closer so I could bring you some nana pudding… :) I’ll get you some one of these days. Love you!!!
