Cherry Blossom Surprise

April 20th, 2009

Here we are at the start of yet another week. I have to say that I’m feeling much better at the start of this one than I was at the beginning of last week. Amazing what a little silence, prayer and exercise will do for the soul.

Last night, I actually had good intentions of writing again, but the day was fairly uneventful- aside from my mom-in-law coming for dinner, and even that was just a typical Sunday dinner, only instead of my mom-in-law cooking and us all being at her place, it was just the three of us, and we were at our home.

Monday is generally my ‘grocery’ day, but we had left overs from last night, plus soup from my mom-in-law, so I knew it could wait until tomorrow. Marcel worked all night, and didn’t get up until around noon today, plus with my work out, and Desere stopping in for a couple of hours, I figured why try to make a mad dash to the grocery store, when in reality we didn’t need anything for todays dinner?

Instead, while thumbing through this weeks sale papers, I saw the cutest shirt on sale at one of our local stores. It was half price, and since I don’t have that many summery shirts, I figured I’d go check it out in person. Upon seeing it, I still liked it, so I picked up what I thought should be my size and brought it home. It’s a little snug in the arms, but since it’s a ‘summer’ blouse, and since it’s not summer yet, I’m sure I’ll be able to wear it without any problems when summer rolls around. Technically I could wear it now, but the snugness in the arms would probably bug me. Guess that means I’d better get busy with the strength training again.

Marcel also finally joined the ranks of Facebook. He’d been telling me for a while that he was going to join, and today, while Desere was here, he decided to create an account. Desere also joined, so now two more of my favorite people are on Facebook. Now if I could only get mom and diddy to join.

Before dinner, Marcel and I decided to go for a little walk so I could take a couple of shots around the neighborhood. The cherry trees are in bloom, and cherry blossoms have to be one of my favorites, along with Bradford pear blossoms. They go from being stark to a beautiful burst of color, and within days the blooms have faded and the tree is covered with new leaves. It’s beautiful.

I’m going to share a couple more of the photos from our walk on my sister site, http://www.throughthetulips.com, but I couldn’t resist sharing the cherry blossoms with you here.

I can’t help it. I find myself wanting to pull up a chair- grab myself a class of ice cold water or green tea, curl up with a good book, and every once in a while take a glance at the beauty blanketing above me. I would imagine it would look something like this:

Anyone care to join me?

My daughter is on facebook but I am not. She actually found her room mate for the dorms in college by using facebook and so far it has made a lot of sense as the college has them fill out a questionnaire.

The girl is from the next city over and her folks are part of nato. They have already begun to hang out before school starts.

Judy- Thanks so much. It was a great day. *hugss*

Sammi- I can’t see something pink that I don’t think of you or Linda.

I love Facebook Bobby. It has reconnected me with so many people from school and the past, and it has been amazing getting to know them all over again, seeing where their lives have taken them, and reestablishing friendships. It’s great that your daughter found her roomate for school there.

Beth, I bet there is SO much that we could catch up on too. We would have a blast, for sure!

Kate thanks so much. I love those flowers.

Dutchie :) Thanks- I think you just want to be here, don’t you?

Bursty, you know I wouldn’t lie to you my friend. Thank you. I (dont’ shoot me sammi) am really not a pink kinda girl (unless it’s a bright pink) but these flowers make me smile.

Thank you Summer. How are you enjoying being a mommy?

    *hugs*
