Behaviour Modification??

April 15th, 2009

I was reading an article earlier about behaviour modification in terms of food and eating, and how sometimes, it’s better to give ourselves a negative mental picture in order to avoid certain behaviours. Since the article was about healthy eating, and avoiding the rationalizations that we often fool ourselves with, they shared the following video from The Onion.

As humorous as it is, I found myself feeling a little nauseated after the fact. There could be something to this behaviour modification after all.

This puts things in perspective. Ever since I had my heart problems in February I have made some drastic lifestyle changes.

I have also managed to lose 15 pounds in the process and figure I need to be right at 175 so I have 10 more to lose.

It isn’t hard one you commit. It is hard if you commit on again off again.

Truthfully the heart troubles scared the hell out of me. Nothing will kill you quicker than a bad heart.

You are right Bobby. Heart disease runs in my family, and once you commit, it really isn’t hard to make our bodies healthy, and when they are healthy they tend to last longer.

Heart troubles scare me too. It sounds like you’ve really been doing the right things though to avoid long term problems. *hugs*
