Back in the Groove-

January 28th, 2013

Don’t let the title of this post deceive you- I’d love to say that I’m back in the groove, over jet lag and exactly where I want to be 5 days after arriving home- but I would be lying to you if I said I was. What I can say is that I’m making progress and there are lots of positives along the way.

Our return trip was fantastic- It started with a friend of ours who works for Delta actually meeting us at the airport on their day off- to get our bags weighed in and checked-in. They told us not to worry about the weight of the bags- but I definitely kept them within the weight limit as things happen and it was possible they wouldn’t make it as planned. We checked one extra bag- which I may add is a record for us- and they also took care of the fees associated with that- very sweet and a huge blessing. Plus exit row seets all the way home- another HUGE blessing and boy was I ever grateful.. especially since I woke up on the morning of the flight and surprise- the monthly ‘unwelcome visitor’ was a week early. As y’all know, I have horrible cramps- (sorry guys- too much information I know) so I was a bit concerned, but the pain wasn’t severe, but enough to shift my focus on staying comfortable instead of thinking constantly about being sad for leaving family and friends. SO it turned out to be a good thing!

The sleep has been crazy and hit-and-miss, but it’s getting there. It was a busy time while we were gone, and I finally had to realize that I don’t have to get here and jump back in to everything, that I can take some time to ease back into the groove and it will come a lot easier if I just go with how I feel instead of fighting it tooth and nail because I ‘expect’ that I should feel a certain way.

So- no plans for me.. I’m taking care of myself both mentally and physically- getting back into a healthy eating pattern and working on ordering some kettle bells to add to my work-out equipment. I have new running shoes- and I will be putting those to the test sometime in the very near future. All great things- towards what I know is going to be a wonderful year!
