Back and Forth

November 3rd, 2010

Last night I went to bed at an unheard of time of 9 p.m. and at the time I thought that sleep was probably the best thing for me. I had been freezing cold about a half hour before, so I took a hot bath and then bundled up under two blankets and flannel sheets. I was warm for about a half hour, then cold again. About that time, Mister M. decided to pounce on top of me, curled up on my hip and I put the hot water bottle on my neck. Twenty minutes after that, I was sweating. This was pretty much the pattern for most of the night, but this morning when I woke Marcel up at 4:45, I actually felt a little better. I went back to bed and slept until 9:30 and woke up with that same feeling of not being ‘well’ but at least feeling somewhat better.

I tend to be one of those people who start to feel better and want to jump back into the swing of things. That was the case today. Marcel came home from work and then rushed off to a safety exam he had to take (he passed) and when he got back we decided to take JJ out to play. Cairn Terriers are high energy doggies and even though he plays inside, it’s nothing like running in the field. I knew I wouldn’t be doing much running, but by the time we walked the 1/4 mile there- played with JJ (I mostly watched) and walked the 1/4 mile back, I was beat. Obviously, I overdid it and now I’m feeling blah again. Not as bad as yesterday but I know that I really need to make sure that I am more cautious. After all, I have a vacation to pack for and some last minute shopping to do, not to mention the never-ending cleaning list so that I leave everything spic-n-span.

The greatest thing about today was when I woke up and saw the ground covered with a blanket of golden leaves. There were high winds last night and they let loose from the trees to blanket the ground. It was gorgeous. I hope to feel like taking pictures of them before they are gone. I wanted to rake them up and jump right in the middle of them. Wouldn’t that be a cute picture?

The pattern you describe is typical of a low grade fever – showing the body is fighting infection. Funy that fevers are a sign our body is working as designed. Take it easy!!! The picture sounds delicious for sure.
