Baby Steps

Yesterday was September 16 and also meant that it was something significant in my life. Two things really- The first is that we’ll be heading home for the holidays two months from yesterday, and the second was that I made a decision not to eat ANYTHING after dinner for the next two months. I’m trying to turn it into a habit, so that I no longer have to make a conscious decision not to eat after dinner, but that it just happens on its own.

Those of you who know me know that this will be a struggle because I like to snack in the evenings, but enough is enough. I set a very doable goal at the beginning of this year to lose 40 pounds by November and I’ve probably lost 7 pounds. The reason why is because I’ve stopped taking vitamims, stopped working out as much, and started eating more in the evenings. It has been a very odd year, but ultimately the buck stops at me. I haven’t done it. Period!

Now I’m taking baby steps and this is the first one. NO more eating after dinner. From there, I’ll start adding more exercise and we’ll go from there. I’ve also started reading to make sure that I’m getting the best supplements for my body since I know that I seem to be in peri-menapause. That’s an entire entry of its own, so I’ll just leave it at that.
