A Day in the Life of the Cupcake Kitchen

I’ve spent part (most) of the day doing prep work for tomorrow’s baking marathon.   I have four different flavors of cupcakes to bake tomorrow for an order that’s to be delivered on Sunday morning.   I’m looking forward to it.   Cooking is a passion of mine and I love seeing all the ingredients come together to create something beautiful and tasty.      Tomorrow’s time in the ‘cupcake kitchen’ will be spent making Lemon Meringue cupcakes, Hummingbird cupcakes, Apple Tart cupcakes, and Peanut Butter Kiss cupcakes.   It promises to be a full, but fun day in the kitchen.

Once that is done and delivered- I’ll spend some time dipping the candied orange peel that I made the other day.    I needed one orange for some baklava syrup I was making- and there was no one orange to be bought-  instead it had to be a full bag.   So rather than letting them go bad, I juiced them all- zested a few and made candied peel with the rest.   Talk about no waste!
