Back to School?

December 9th, 2009

Most of the people who know me very well know that I love learning. Most people also know that I’ve been considering attending an online university for quite some time but wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go in. Several days ago, I was talking to a friend and our conversation drifted towards learning and how I was still considering finding a university online that would be more geared towards adults, so I wouldn’t feel like an outcast, even though the curriculum is online.

She asked if I’d heard of Western Governors University and their Bachelor’s degree online. I had to admit that I hadn’t, but once we hung up, I decided to see what information I could find. This university impressed me on many levels, and probably one of the biggest was the fact that their tuition is so reasonable compared to other online universities. Because the school is a non-profit university, they are able to keep their fees and tuition much lower than many other universities. The schedule is also really flexible, which I need with work, family and taking care of JJ, plus they are cited for having great mentoring and support.

I was very impressed. So much so, that I’m considering going back to school even more than ever. There’s no time like the present to learn something new.

    Lori,

There is no doubt in my mind, whatsoever in your ability to accomplish this and you have the right attitude too…

My sister-in-law got her master’s degree online. She said the program was very robust and competitive with the kind of educational experience one could expect in a physical educational setting.

I think you would do well with whatever you set your mind to doing, and an online program might really be ideal for you right now. =)

Good for you. I feel like I’m learning all over again teaching my children. It’s great — well, most of the time anyway!
