Your Flight Itinerary Has Changed

August 18th, 2010

Every morning before I get out of bed, I usually grab my iPhone and read email.  It’s something I started doing about a month ago and I gues it’s safe to say that it’s now a habit.    This morning, I was lying under the covers, with Mister Mistoffeelees beside me demanding attention and I opened mail.  He usually butts his head against the phone so that it will move, taking my attention away from the phone and directed towards him.     I gave him a quick pat on the head and went back to email, which had loaded by this time.

I saw an email from Delta, that said our flight itinerary had changed.   I groaned when I saw that, mostly because I’m a creature of habit when it comes to some things and I don’t like flight changes.   Luckily, this one was a good change.  It means we’re leaving a little earlier than originally planned.    It’s actually back to the same flight times from last trip because we usually leave at 10:20 but for some reason it had changed to 10:50 this flight.   Now it’s back to 10:20.

Back to that creature of habit thing-   I’ve booked the same flight numbers for our last 4 trips.

Time to dash-  I’ve got to finish getting dressed so I can meet with some friends.  More on that later- with photos.

Travel Partner

August 1st, 2010

I have a new travel partner and even though I don’t have any big travels planned in the next little while, I will share more about my new ‘friend’ a little later on.   You’re going to be seeing a lot of him in the future, so look for more information regarding my new friend within the next couple of days.

Oh, and in other news, Mister M. has expressed an interest to start blogging again and will have a few appearances a month.  His entries will be listed under Cat Tales,  which was the name of his old blog from back in the JS days.

(On Location) From the Train

July 16th, 2010

I’m headed to the airport via the train to meet up with a new friend, Susi. She is a friend of my parents and going to be in the area with a 6 hour layover, so I’m going to keep her and her oldest son company.

The guy in the picture is sitting across from me in the train. He’s jamming to some Eminem. How do I know this, you may ask? Because his music is turned up so loud I can hear it.

I love people watching. Seriously, I could do it all day long.

Not Counting Down or Anything

July 4th, 2010

I’m not counting down or anything, but it won’t be that long now before it’s time to start packing for our vacation. The cruise will be our vacation within a vacation, but the real vacation begins when I head home to be with family and friends. I’m excited that I’ll get to choose a new computer for mom and diddy, and also that I’ll maybe even be able to talk them into getting some modern office furniture to add to their home office. I’m not holding my breath about that one, but a girl can dream. There is SO much that I’m looking forward to doing, and honestly, it can’t get here soon enough.

I guess I’ll just continue to work out and such to keep me occupied while I count down the days. At least that way, when I get off the plane, I may look my absolute best.

153 Days and Counting

July 4th, 2010

I love it when I log in to the cruise website that I see a little message like the one to my left that tells me how many days it is until we head off on our adventure.   As the official ‘tour cruise guide’ of our little group, I’m the one who will be setting up everything from our on board accounts to researching the excursions and getting detailed information about the ones we are interested, so that we can make informed decisions.    I’m excited about it.    It’s my first cruise, plus I’m excited that I’ll get to spend it with some of my favorite people.      If all goes as planned, I’ll even have the opportunity to swim with the dolphins, something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember.

It’s Official!

June 30th, 2010

I’m pregnant!! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. That isn’t true though. I’m not pregnant and since I’m knocking on the door of the fabulous ‘young’ age of 43, I think that ship has sailed without me. It’s all good though. I know that everything has a purpose and since I have a feline and canine (and sometimes a husband) that are like having children, I think I have my hands full just as things are.

The OFFICIAL part is that our cruise is booked. I called my cruise guy Steven earlier today and made it official. I’m known in my little family circle as the ‘tour guide’, so when it comes to making reservations and doing the research for travel; I’m your girl. I actually like it, and because I love learning new things and planning fun things to do, this makes it one big adventure.

Next up on the cruise agenda will be planning the excursions while in Cozumel. We are going to swim with the dolphins, plus mom and I are wanting to spend some time on a zip line. It’s something mom has always wanted to do, and in recent years, I’ve wanted to do it as well, so we’re going to go for it as long as our excursions don’t overlap. I’m sure we can swing it though. I’m sure while mom and I are zipping around through the sky, that diddy, Desere and Marcel will be lounging on the beach or maybe even taking pictures of me and mom screaming as we fly through the air.

I’m excited!!!

I have a lot to talk about, but not a lot of time. I’ve got to be up VERY early in the morning and I have a lot to do before bed tonight.

More soon…. Don’t Forget this week’s 5 O’ Clock Friday’s.

Cruisin’

June 29th, 2010

Desere just left a few minutes ago and after a walk with JJ, several cups of coffee and conversation, I decided to call our new cruise coordinator and discuss our options for the cruise we are planning for December. His name is Steven and we talked on the phone for quite some time and he was great about answering the few questions that I did have. I scribbled down some information that at one point Desere tried to read, but I think she gave up after looking at what my chickenscratch looks like when I’m taking notes.

Now I have conveyed the information to everyone and if diddy is in agreement then I’ll be making the reservation tomorrow. As it looks now- we’ll be mid-ship with a ocean view on the Empress deck- which is the same deck as guest services, Internet and the atrium. As much as I’ll be tempted to log in and check my email and write a journal entry, I probably will resist, although I can’t make any promises. :)

I’m just looking forward to the vacation and once this is planned, we’ll wait and see how things develop with the Florida trip. There are still a lot of factors that will determine that one, but I’ve been browsing the Disney site getting ideas.

Right now, it’s time to turn off the vacation brain and relax in front of the television.

Browsing Hotels in San Francisco

June 23rd, 2010

Mom and I were talking a few nights ago about a trip that they made to San Francisco a few years ago and some of the hotels in san francisco that they stayed at while they were there. As most of you know, Marcel and I are planning some serious vacation time later in the year, and San Francisco is one place that I’ve never been.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m staying at a hotel, I like to consider it my little home away from home for those days. I like for the beds to be comfortable, for there to be great restaurants on the property, plus I love to have Internet, hair dryers and a mini fridge in the room. Those are just a few of the things that make it feel somewhat like home to me.

The West coast is looking pretty good, but we’ve just got to decide if we can fit it into this trip, or if it will have to wait until the next.

Free Hugs

May 23rd, 2010

Yesterday I was out shopping with friends in the city and we noticed two people walking through the streets holiding a sign that said “Free Hugs”.     Immediately we knew that we wanted to get in on the hug fest, so we went over to them and said we’d like hugs.  They were thrilled, and after sharing hugs they moved on.   A little while later, the rest of their group passed through, all holding the same “Free Hugs” signs.  Needless to say, we cashed in on the hugs and all walked away with at least 10 hugs from perfect strangers.

I happen to be one of those people who adore hugs, and it isn’t very often that I receive one from a complete stranger, much less 10+ strangers.   I wouldn’t have thought it would have made an impact on my day, but as we walked away from the group we all talked about how great it made us feel to have the hugs from perfect strangers.

It just goes to show how something as simple as a hug can make a difference in someones day.   My only regret was that I didn’t have my camera with me to capture the moment, and I didn’t think about the “eye” because I was caught up in the moment of the hug fest.    Imagine if we all started doing small things to make a positive difference in the lives of others and how the world could change if that happened.     THAT my friends  is “CHANGE” we could believe in.

Adios- and Don’t Forget 5 O’ Clock Friday’s

May 14th, 2010

Time for me to get ready to head out on our trip.  Marcel was up earlier than I anticipated so I’m headed to the bath and then to finish packing those last minute things.   I feel a little rushed, so something tells me I’ll probably end up forgetting something.

I will be unplugged this weekend with the exception of my phone, which I should have email access to via the ‘eye’.   Since I also have the WordPress application on my phone, that means I’ll also be able to (or should be) post a 5 O’ Clock Friday’s picture and I hope y’all will do the same.   I won’t be able to add the contributions until we return on Monday, but I’ll do it then, including sharing a photo of JJ with his new ‘do’.

I’ll probably update this space IF I have Internet access through my phone at the resort… if not- you’ll have to wait til Monday to see what I’ve been up to.
